  • 2019 Edition: The Next Level Up!

The theme I’ve decided for this year is, “The Next Level Up!”. What does this mean? It means we’re elevating! We’re leaving what happened in previous years in the past. We’re healing from past hurt and LETTING GO (for real this time). We’re practicing the Law of Attraction (read my previous blog about this if you haven’t already). We’re cutting off all the people and things that don’t help us grow. Lastly, we’re living our best life! “I’m living my best life, I ain’t going back and forth with you…!”

In 2019, we’re not allowing anything or anyone to hold us back from being the best version of ourselves. It’s very important for us to constantly evolve. We should never be the same person we were yesterday. New goals require a new you sometimes, and if I’m being real some blessings haven’t manifested because the new version of you hasn’t happened yet.

For me personally, 2019 is the year I’ve been waiting on FOR YEARS! In May, I’ll be graduating from college with a bachelor’s degree in Entrepreneurship and hopefully beginning cosmetology school in August. This year, I’ll be able to work towards the goals I had for so many years, and not have the excuse of “being in college”. I’ll be a college grad, moving into my first apartment, entering cosmetology school to become a licensed cosmetologist, and going into my 3rd year of business. Now that’s the definition of the next level up!

Last week my aunt asked me what was my theme for 2019, and to be honest I haven’t even thought about it. But one of the things I wanted to start this year, was write down all the things I hoped to see manifest within the next 12 months. The goals I have for myself requires a new version of myself. The old me no longer is available. To get to where I want to be, I have to do things I’ve never done before, think differently, and walk the talk. Writing and mapping out what I want to accomplish allowed me to have tunnel vision to eventually get to where I want to be. This helped me see what I want to do, and what I have to do in order to get there.

I challenge everyone reading this blog post to write down ALL your goals for 2019. Professionally and personally. If you really want to go more in-depth (and you should!), underneath each goal write what actions you plan to do in order to achieve that goal. Throughout the year, you’ll be able to measure and evaluate your progress, and hopefully, by this time next year, you’ll be able to check off at least 75% of the goals you wrote down.

We are Queens. We have Panache and we wear our inner confidence EVERYDAY, ALL DAY. We’re taking everything to the NEXT LEVEL. In 2019, we’re seeing what else is in store for us. We’re chasing our dreams. We’re living our best life and doing it with PANACHE! This year we will feel capable to do and achieve everything that we once doubted ourselves in. Start that business, revamp an existing business, write a book you’re wanting to write, begin dating again, build or rekindle friendships. Do whatever has been holding you back.

Once again, I wish everyone a Happy New Year. I hope this year will be full of prosperity and blessings unto you and your loved ones. And remember to always “Wear Your Inner Confidence” in everything you do.

  • Overpowering Fear

Have you ever felt like there was something greater out there for you, but the process it took to get there scared you? Have you ever talked yourself out of something or compared yourself to someone else and felt that you could never be on their level? If you answered yes to any of those questions, you’ve allowed your fear to overpower you and that is something we as Queens DO NOT ALLOW under any circumstances.

There’s a reason I use the term “overpower” instead of “overcome”. The definition of “power” is to “have possession of control or authority” of something or someone. I decided to have authority over fear, where it can no longer have control over me. The word “overcome” means to succeed in dealing with a problem or difficulty, but has the ability to come back. It can be temporary. With “power” no matter how many times it comes back you always have the authority to “overpower” it.

If you’ve read my previous blog posts, you would know that this year has probably been the most challenging years I’ve had in a long time. So much has changed without a warning and being able to process everything that has happened. However, this year pushed me to a level of discomfort that I had no choice but continue to move forward. This year was my time to grow, and while growing I had to experience pain. I had to lose… alot. For months I never understood why everything was happening the way it was, and if anything I just knew I was ready for it to all be over. There were days I felt good, and there were days I felt like that the world was on my shoulders. But through all the adversity I’ve faced this year, I learned to overpower fear because I had no other choice. What I was use to was no longer working, and it was now time to navigate my way through the wilderness and figure out what was next for me. One thing I’ve learned anytime a door closes or something doesn’t work out, it’s because something greater is coming.

One of the first things you have to do to overpower fear is to realize your worth. Fear attacks parts of us that are still developing and can be considered our “not so strong areas”, however you have to look at everything from the bigger picture. You were born with strengths and talents. Some people have more than others, however the hand you were given is just enough for you to achieve greatness.

After you recognize your value, you begin to think and move differently. You no longer allow your limitations to limit you, and the things you start to believe in begin to manifest. What you use to doubt yourself about will no longer be able to keep you in bondage. You’ll see yourself doing and achieving things that just a few months ago you only could think about.  Now that’s what Queens do! Queens have Panache. Queens are confident. We do things that will make others admire us and overcome obstacles that others are still struggling with.

You’re a Queen. Don’t allow fear to overpower you. You overpower it. That’s how you “Wear Your Inner Confidence”.

  • Hello August!

    Hi Queens!

It’s Hump Day! It’s August! It’s a start of a new month! We’ve made it through one half of the year already!

Today isn’t Monday obviously, so this is no #MotivationalMonday but I want to have some “real” talk today. I’ll begin by releasing some truths. This summer has been really challenging for me. Life of an entrepreneur isn’t all what it’s represented to be on social media these days. Entrepreneurs have low points too. However, because of our platform we are required to “keep grinding” and wear a smile everyday (even if it’s fake) because it’s our job and how we make our money. This summer I experienced being in a car accident on the interstate, which resulted in my car being totaled. 3 days after my accident, my MacBook stopped working. Nowadays, our phones and computer hold EVERYTHING! I had completely lost all my business and school files. So within a blink of an eye, I had no car or computer. Aside from that, I had to begin a part-time job because let’s be honest in entrepreneurship some months are better than others financially. I must say, when you are entrepreneurial minded and having to work for someone else, that can be very tough mentally because you know you are capable of so much more. But sometimes, you have to ride the wave until it’s your time to shine. So with all this being said, my life had basically somewhat done a 360 on me, and it has been a lot of take in at one time. I’ve had a lot of “low days” and even once again questioned my dreams. Many times while writing #MotivationalMonday blogs, I was secretly trying to encourage myself. I was trying to change my mindset to thinking like a champion, knowing quitting isn’t an option, trusting the process, and resetting my life. Through all of this, there were some days where I felt like “How am I going to motivate others, when I’m not even motivated myself?” and is the reason why I took a small mental break to refocus. BUT I’M BACK! This post is to encourage anyone going through a rough season, to keep pushing even when you don’t feel like it. To explain to everyone, that entrepreneurs go through things too. I’ve always been that friend that’s been known as keeping my life “under the radar” because I hate the feeling of being a burden to someone else. Everyone has their own problems they’re trying to deal with. I’ve tried to maintain this persona to only show the “good”, which makes outsiders feel like I don’t go through things in life. But I do. We all do. Sometimes I feel embarrassed because I feel like I dropped the ball again, but the other day I had to tell myself, “Benita, you are human. As long as you pick yourself back up, you have still won.” I no longer want to feel defeated, and overwhelmed with the series of unfortunate events I’ve experienced recently. It’s a process, but I’m working towards turning my negatives into positives, and keeping my eye on the prize. I am a Queen, and you are too!

(Whew! This was so therapeutic for me.)

I hope you conquer the month of August. You are the head and not the tail, above and not beneath, the first and not the last. You are a CONQUEROR! You are a WINNER!

With much love, confidence, and REJUVENTATION!

  • Hi Queens!

    Hi Queens!

These last 8 months, as an entrepreneur, have been very intense for me … BUT IN A GOOD WAY! I’ve connected with so many unique, beautiful people and have discovered so much about myself and the vision I have for Panache. I’m so thankful that you believed in me and supported my dreams.

My name is Benita. I’m a 20-year-old college student majoring in Entrepreneurship with the plans of attending cosmetology school after graduation (May 2019 WOOT WOOT!). I’ve always been passionate about cosmetology (hair in particular) and recently discovered my passion for wanting to help others become a better version of themselves. Transitioning into adulthood is ROUGH! You get exposed to so much that you’ve never experienced before and it can take a toll on you mentally, emotionally, and physically. In actuality, that’s how Panache Hair Company came into existence. December 2015… I had just finished my first semester in college, while in the midst of experiencing my “first love” breakup. My self-esteem was at an all-time low, and unfortunately something I battled with most of my grade school years. It’s something everyone deals with though. It’s definitely nothing to be ashamed of. What matters most is that I overcame my insecurities. I had no idea those life events would’ve led me to become a business owner and that I’d want to reach out and help others with a similar story.

Panache is more than just a hair company. I’m working hard to create a lifestyle brand that each and everyone can relate too. Panache (PA-NAH-CH) is actually a French word that means “an original, stylish, and confident way of doing something that makes people admire you” and the company slogan is “Wear your Inner Confidence”. I always tell people when you wear my hair extensions, I want you to feel like you’re the baddest thing walking. BECAUSE YOU ARE! But this doesn’t just have to apply to hair extensions. Wear your inner confidence in EVERYTHING you do! Whatever you’re passionate about or want to achieve, GO FOR IT!  Majority of the time, nobody is stopping you, BUT YOU! Always remember to walk with your head held high and believe you are 100% capable of achieving anything you put your mind too.

You are a Queen and Queens don’t let their crowns fall.

Be on the lookout for our 3-Day Memorial Day Sale starting Monday, May 28! Bundles will be starting at $40 and Wigs will be $40 off! You don’t want to miss out! I PROMISE!
